CPAs are not typically taught about Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI) because it is a relatively new and specialized financial planning strategy. PPLI is often used to provide tax and estate planning benefits to high-net-worth individuals, and the laws and regulations governing PPLI can be complex and constantly evolving. As a result, traditional CPA education may not cover PPLI in depth, and CPAs who work with high-net-worth clients may need to seek additional education or training to become familiar with PPLI and other specialized financial planning strategies. It is important for CPAs to understand their clients’ financial situations and goals and to work with Matthew Jennings, JD, MBA, EA, RFC®, CEP®, CES™, aka Tax King Matt to provide the best advice and guidance possible.
